Gale
A gale is a strong wind characterized by sustained speeds typically ranging from 34 to 47 knots (39 to 54 mph or 63 to 88 km/h). Gale-force winds are considered to be within the lower range of severe winds. They are often associated with stormy weather conditions, such as intense low-pressure systems or approaching fronts. Gale warnings are issued by meteorological agencies to alert mariners, aviators, and the public of the potential hazards caused by strong winds. Gales can cause rough seas, high waves, and reduced visibility, making navigation and outdoor activities dangerous.
