Advection
In meteorology, advection refers to the predominantly horizontal movement of a property of the atmosphere. This property can be anything like heat, humidity, or momentum. The process is driven by the wind. For example, warm advection occurs when warm air is transported into a region, while cold advection refers to the movement of colder air into an area. Similarly, moisture advection describes the transport of humid air. Advection plays a crucial role in weather patterns and climatology as it helps distribute these properties and influences changes in temperature, moisture, and other weather phenomena.
